“Revolution” not resolution
Around this time of year everyone starts thinking about what they are going to do differently in the new year. What bad habits they are going to leave behind and what good ones they are going to pick up. Often many of our resolutions are the same or similar to previous years: to lose a few kilos, to exercise more, to work less, to quit smoking… so maybe this year it is time for a “revolution” not a resolution.
Maybe it’s time to move from resolutions that are often little more than good intentions to revolutionary actions that are full of consideration and determination. The difference is really all about the level of commitment. If you are committed to “revolutionary” change in your life, your business or your career then you will take the necessary action to ‘make it happen’.
R-evolution is all about:
- Intelligent thinking – knowing exactly what needs to be done
- New thinking – innovative and creative approaches that will help you achieve things faster, better and with less effort
- Structured thinking – realistic strategies that determine actions, time frames and resources
- Determined thinking – connecting the spiritual, mental and physical components that ensure motivation, commitment and consistency.
Revolution is about our willingness to pay the price for change whatever that might be. It is about a strength of mind that is focused on a more positive future and drives sustainable effort and consistency. Revolution doesn’t over analyse, ponder and procrastinate, revolution is ‘Just do it!’
2012 is shaping up to be a year of great change. And if you believe the historians, astrologers and seers 2012 will be a year of revolutionary change. Make sure you capitalise on the momentum of this global phenomena. Tear up your list of resolutions and re-write yourself a list of new year “revolutions” for 2012!
